We have heard the slogans like “Half Your Plate” or “5-A-Day” to help remind of us of the importance of eating fruits and vegetables, and to celebrate National Garden Month, we want to highlight the value of fruits and vegetables – nutritionally and educationally – by collaborating with our friends in the Junior Master Gardener (JMG) program. JMG is a unique approach to classroom learning through hands-on gardening. Their program is all about “Growing good kids by igniting a passion for learning, success, and service through a unique gardening education.” Learn more about JMG here.
If the idea of growing fresh produce in your backyard sounds exciting, then join Lisa Whittlesey, Extension Program Specialist and Junior Master Gardener International Program Coordinator, as she talks about starting vegetable gardens from seed.
