Spring Garden Collaboration: Junior Master Gardener + Dinner Tonight

April 26, 2016 by Dinner Tonight

In a previous post celebrating National Garden Month, we featured Lisa Whittlesey, Extension Program Specialist and Junior Master Gardener International Program Coordinator, talking about starting vegetable gardens from seed. While some vegetable gardens are easy to start from seeds, other vegetables are best started from transplant. Today Lisa has tips on which vegetables to start from transplant, how to choose a transplant, and how to plant transplants.

More information on planting a garden can be found here!

If you do choose to plant peppers or lettuce transplants, make sure to try these Dinner Tonight recipes with your fresh harvest:

Beefy Vegetable Stuffed Peppers

Chipotle Chicken Taco Salad

Special thanks to the Junior Master Gardener program for their collaboration with our Spring Garden series! JMG is a unique approach to classroom learning through hands-on gardening. Their program is all about “Growing good kids by igniting a passion for learning, success, and service through a unique gardening education.”  Learn more about JMG here.
