Bulgogi (Korean BBQ Beef)
Mix up your dinner options with our spin on a Korean inspired Bulgogi. This tasty dish of marinated beef is a greatly versatile meal and can be conveniently made on your stove top or thrown on the grill on a beautiful sunny day.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 tsp granulated white sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 3/4 lb lean beef top sirloin thinly sliced
- 1 carrot chopped
- 1 green onion chopped
- 1/2 yellow onion chopped

- In a large re-sealable plastic bag, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds, garlic, sugar, and black pepper.
- Place beef, carrots, and onions in the bag; seal, and shake to coat the vegetables and beef with the sauce.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 1/2 hours.
- Preheat an outdoor grill or stove top on high heat.
- Remove meat and vegetables from marinade and place in a large skillet.
- Place a few tablespoons of the marinade in the skillet with the meat and vegetables.
- Cook for 15 to 20 minutes, or to desired doneness for meat.

Swiss Steak Deluxe
Ingredients
- 1.5 lb round steak trimmed and cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1 8 oz package fresh mushrooms sliced
- 1 cup onion sliced
- 1 cup celery sliced
- 1 cup green bell pepper sliced
- 1 tbsp garlic minced
- 1 8 oz reduced sodium tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 14.5 oz tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 .87 oz package brown gravy mix
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

- In a 6 quart slow cooker, combine steak, mushrooms, onion, celery, bell pepper and garlic.
- In a medium bowl, combine all other ingredients. Pour over steak mixture. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or 4-5 hours.
- Serve on a bed of wild or brown rice.

- 2 1/2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons mustard powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon ground bay leaves
- 3/4 teaspoon ground coriander seed
- 3/4 teaspoon ground savory
- 3/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt

- Store in an airtight jar at room temperature until ready to use.

Recipe makes enough marinade for 2 pounds of meat, serving size was based on a 4 ounce serving for a total of 8 servings.
